Glow stickers are designed primarily for indoor use. They’re laminated for water and UV resistance, but extended outdoor exposure or environments with limited light may reduce glow brightness over time.
How should I design for the best glow effect?
The glow is strongest in unprinted (white) areas of your design, so we recommend leaving some portions of your artwork ink-free for maximum glow intensity.
What’s the difference between printed glow stickers and glow transfer decals?
Printed glow stickers feature your full-color design printed on glow-in-the-dark vinyl using eco-solvent inks, then finished with your choice of gloss or matte lamination for extra durability and protection.
Glow transfer decals, on the other hand, are not printed. Instead, your design is cut directly from the same glowing vinyl, with the background removed so only the cut shapes remain. These decals do not include any ink or lamination and offer a clean, cut-out look that glows naturally in the dark.
What surfaces does tamper-evident vinyl work best on?
This material adheres well to smooth, non-porous surfaces such as metal, glass, plastic, and painted finishes. It’s ideal for electronics, machinery, product packaging, and anything requiring security labeling.
What happens if someone tries to remove a tamper-evident sticker?
Tamper-evident vinyl fractures into small pieces when peeled away, preventing clean removal or reuse. This breakaway behavior ensures the sticker can’t be reapplied or removed without showing clear signs of tampering.
Can I include multiple glow in the dark designs on one sheet?
Yes! Our glow sticker sheets let you combine multiple designs on a single sheet, each one kiss-cut for easy peeling and application. They’re perfect for product sets, labels, packaging, or promotional sticker collections.
How long do tamper-evident stickers last?
The material is rated for short-term outdoor use up to 1 year. It performs best in indoor or controlled environments where sticker integrity and tamper detection are more important than long-term exposure.
What are reflective stickers used for?
Reflective stickers are often used for visibility and safety purposes. They are designed to reflect light back to its source, making them highly visible in low-light conditions. Some common uses of reflective stickers include:
Road safety: Reflective stickers are commonly used on vehicles, bicycles, and road signs to improve visibility and reduce the risk of accidents.
Industrial safety: Reflective stickers are often used in industrial settings to mark equipment, machinery, and hazards. This improves visibility for workers and reduces the risk of accidents.
Decorative purposes: Reflective stickers are also used for decorative purposes, such as on clothing or in art projects. They can add an eye-catching and unique element to a design.
Overall, reflective stickers are a versatile tool for improving visibility and safety in a variety of settings.
Can tamper-evident vinyl be laminated?
No, tamper-evident vinyl is not laminated. The material must remain uncoated to maintain its breakaway function. Adding a laminate would prevent the sticker from fragmenting as intended.
What are common uses for tamper-evident stickers?
Tamper-evident stickers are often used for warranty protection, security seals, asset tracking, and calibration records. You can create custom versions using our tamper-evident sticker builder.
Are reflective stickers removable?
Yes, reflective stickers are removable. However, the ease of removal may vary depending on the surface they are applied to and how long they have been in place.
Are glow in the dark stickers dishwasher safe?
Yes, our glow in the dark stickers are dishwasher safe, ensuring they remain vibrant even after multiple washes.
How long do reflective stickers last?
Reflective stickers are designed to last up to 4 years, maintaining their visibility and durability throughout this period.
How long do holographic stickers last?
Holographic stickers typically last 6 months to a year, offering a brilliant and eye-catching display during that time.
What are glow in the dark stickers made of?
Glow in the dark stickers are made from photoluminescent vinyl, a light-reactive material that absorbs light and emits a greenish glow in the dark. Each sticker is printed with high-quality eco-solvent inks and finished with your choice of gloss or matte lamination for added UV protection and durability. You can read more details about our glow in the dark vinyl in our materials section.
Are holographic stickers laminated?
Yes, our holographic stickers are laminated with a durable gloss finish that enhances shine and protects against scratches, fading, and moisture. We print them using eco-solvent ink, which absorbs into the vinyl and allows the holographic effect to shine through the entire design, even in full-color areas.
What finish options are available for white static cling?
You can choose between a matte or gloss finish for white static cling stickers. Gloss offers a shiny, polished look, while matte provides a more subdued, glare-free appearance.
Clear static clings only come with a gloss finish because a matte finish reduces the transparency.
How thick is the reflective vinyl used for reflective stickers?
Custom reflective stickers are 7.0 mil thick.
Can I order transfer stickers in holographic vinyl?
Yes, you can order transfer stickers in holographic vinyl. We also offer a variety of holographic options, including holographic glitter, holographic gold glitter, holographic gunmetal glitter, holographic pink glitter, and holographic teal glitter vinyl for transfer stickers and vinyl lettering.
How long do glow in the dark stickers & decals glow?
After being exposed to natural or artificial light, our glow vinyl glows most brightly in the first 10 minutes and remains visible for up to an hour in complete darkness. The glow gradually fades but can be recharged repeatedly with additional light exposure.
How thick are holographic stickers?
Holographic stickers are 9 mil thick, providing a sturdy and durable option for showcasing your designs.
Are glow in the dark stickers laminated?
Yes. All printed glow in the dark stickers include lamination. You can choose between gloss or matte finishes, both of which enhance scratch resistance, UV protection, and the overall lifespan of your stickers.
How are stickers measured and priced?
At Carstickers.com, we measure and price all our stickers based on square inches. To calculate the square inches of a sticker, simply multiply the width by the height. For example, a sticker that is 4'W x 4'H (4 inches wide and 4 inches high) and a sticker that is 2'W x 8'H (2 inches wide and 8 inches high) will cost the same because both are 16 square inches.
These measurements are based on the widest and tallest areas of the sticker's shape, measured from left to right and top to bottom in a straight line.
Please note: The measurements are taken when the design is upright and in the same position as it will be applied. This ensures that the sticker you order will fit in the intended space. For example, while a diamond-shaped sticker could theoretically be rotated 45 degrees and measured as a square, a 3'x3' diamond and a 3'x3' square rotated 45 degrees are not the same size and will not fit in the same space.
What kind of material are tamper-evident stickers made from?
Tamper-evident stickers are made from tamper-evident vinyl, a 5.0 mil thick specialty film that breaks apart when removed. It’s designed to provide visual evidence of tampering and is commonly used for warranty labels, asset tags, and security applications.
